When we left istanbul it was raining heavily. We tried to sit it out as long as possible with a looong breakfast but we had no choice. We put our monkeysuit on said farewell to our holland friends and got on the road.
The road was good but the weather was shit, cold and foggy. We even didnt have enough
money to buy any proper food to warm us up anymore. This time we wanted to be smart and ge trid of all our turkish lira before we leave the country. We missed that opportunity in most countries
before and therefore our wallets are loaded with som, tenge, rubbels and whatnot - i even found an mongolian bill in the back of my wallet and i no idea where it came from... We have certainly
not been in mongolia - Yet!
We had enough money for a soup and some baked beans - that has to do till we arrive at
the greek border - real europe with real money and all. We arrived at the border when it was already dark. The last official bordercrossing was also the easiest. A european passport is really
worth its weight in gold... Hm. That might not be so much. But you get the point.
Hello Greece we yelled at each other and drove off to Alexandroupoli - the first town
in greece. Here we checked into a nice cozy place and invested our euros in the first greek feast: Souvlaki, sausage, fries, zaziki, beers and ouzo. It was a delicious mess that we stuffed into
our faces and and a great introduction to Greece. Kalispera - good night.
