Day 70 - We are back!.... in Bukhara

In the evening we went to the mechanics and had a look at their work. The heart transplant was sucessful - Chris honda copy bike now has a suzuki piston beating in its chest.

The Frankenbike is complete for now.

Dalir tried to haggle them down from the initially agreed 550 USD. 500 USD was their last word - its still a lot if when you know that the average income in Uzbekistan is 200 USD.

But we knew that they are our only hope and they knew that also very well. 

Chris took a testride and came back with a big smile on his face - "feels good!" he said.

So we paid the guys and took off... 

Dalir told me later that while he was negotiating the price the mechanics asked him why he even negotiated for us - "Those guys are rich"

Well - we are not - but thats what everybody thinks if you have the big tourist chop in the middle of your face. And honestly... We would have probably acted similar and squeezed some money out of these rich tourists with their huge motorbikes.

So next day we packed up - said goodbye to our new family and took of - back to Bukhara.

The road was boring but we where just so happy that we where on the horses again.
